When you need a large-format screen
An image several metres wide is needed where the back row sits far from the screen. According to the manufacturer's rule, the image height for presentations is the distance to the furthest viewer divided by 6, and for charts and tables – divided by 4. With the back row 18 m away, this gives an image 3 m high (presentations) or 4.5 m high (detailed content), i.e. approx. 5.3 m or 8 m wide in 16:9. Ordinary room screens cannot handle such sizes – you need a large-format model. You will find step-by-step calculations in our guide how to choose screen size.
All the models discussed in this guide belong to the large-format screens category. They are intended for auditoriums, conference rooms, hotels, arts centres and performance venues, not for home cinemas.

Alumid – 3.5–4.5 m with the widest choice of fabrics
Alumid opens the large-format series. It has an image width of 3.5 to 4.5 m and is the only one of the three models to offer grey and rear-projection fabrics, so it gives the most freedom in rooms with more difficult lighting.
- Tensioned version (CTS) – the manufacturer calls it the width record among its tensioned screens. The drop is 10–45 cm, and the full range of aspect ratios is available up to a width of 406 cm.
- Non-tensioned version – a 108 mm aluminium roller, a case open at the bottom, a 10–40 cm drop. The manufacturer highlights quick installation that one person can carry out.
- The distributor recommends the tensioned Alumid to universities, precisely because of its simple installation.
Max One – up to 6.5 m, with tensioning for large rooms
Max One covers widths from 4.64 to 6.5 m. The borderless version is available in widths of 500, 550, 600 and 650 cm, and the tensioned version with black borders in widths of 464, 514 and 564 cm.
- The tensioned version uses the MFTS system – a double bottom bar in which one weight tensions the fabric vertically and the other, connected to cords, horizontally.
- The case is open at the bottom, with a bottom closure available as an option.
- The manufacturer uses a safeguard against the roller falling out, and the distributor highlights the light aluminium construction that does not put excessive load on the ceiling.
- The case is white as standard (White Grinz), with black as an option.
Big One – ADEO's largest motorised screen
Big One is a screen for halls, theatre stages and the largest conference rooms. The image is 6 to 8.5 m wide. According to the distributor, widths of 6 and 6.5 m are available only in 1:1, and from 7 m in the other aspect ratios.
- Available only in the borderless version (NOB).
- The case is mandatory, approx. 270 × 270 mm, open at the bottom with no option to close it.
- Fabrics: Vision White and the acoustic Vision Acoustik and Vision Macro Acoustik.
- Sources differ slightly on the list of aspect ratios: the shop offers 1:1, 4:3 and 16:9, while the manufacturer lists 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9 as native. Check the available aspect ratio in the configurator.
Fabrics for large rooms
With very large screens, the speakers often stand behind or beside the screen, and viewers sit across a wide arc. That is why fabrics with a wide viewing angle (180°) dominate in this series:
- Vision White (gain 1.2) – a versatile white for darkened and semi-darkened rooms.
- Vision Acoustik (gain 0.75, 0.5 mm perforation) – when there are speakers behind the screen in commercial venues.
- Vision Macro Acoustik (gain 0.75, 1.3 mm perforation) – the manufacturer intends it for cinemas, theatres and very large venues.
- On Alumid, additionally Reference Grey 2 and Ambient Grey for rooms with light walls or ambient light, and Vision Rear DB for rear projection.
On a large surface the image spreads the projector's light over many square metres, so choose a projector with ample brightness headroom. More about acoustic fabrics in our guide to acoustic screens.
Installation and brackets
Large-format screens are heavy and long, so installation is planned together with the building structure. Alumid and Max One are installed exclusively with the quick-mount system, with front or back roll. Each model has dedicated bracket sets:
- Alumid – a set of 3 wall/ceiling brackets;
- Max One – sets with 1 or 2 wall/ceiling brackets and 2 chains with carabiners, in white or black;
- Big One – a wall/ceiling bracket with bolts and a safety block for mounting the support on the housing.
If the case is to hang lower below the ceiling, bracket extensions are used. Their load capacity per bracket is up to 180 kg (300 mm), 120 kg (450 mm), 90 kg (600 mm) and 70 kg (750 mm). The load capacity of the ceiling or wall should be assessed by a structural engineer or installer, and the 230 V motor connected by an electrician. Details in our guide to installing a motorised screen.
Or perhaps an in-ceiling version or a cinema screen
If the auditorium has a suspended ceiling, consider Max Inceel – an in-ceiling screen 4.68–6.5 m wide, with a tensioned version. If the image needs to be wider than 8.5 m or the screen does not need to roll up, check out the Cinema fixed-frame screens, from 7 to 23 m wide. We describe a whole-room scenario in our guide screens for auditoriums and lecture halls.
