When is a curved screen worth choosing?
With wide 2.35–2.40:1 cinema formats and large images viewed from close up. The curvature gives a stronger sense of immersion and more even brightness and sharpness at the image edges – in premium home cinemas, screening rooms and simulators.
Which curved screens are available?
Plano Curved – a curved frame with black velvet, 1.8–4 m. Frameless Curved – a curved surface with no visible frame, 2–6 m. Cinema Curved – a curved cinema screen from 7 to 23 m wide.
Which fabric should I choose for a curved screen?
For a dark cinema room, Reference White 2 and Reference Grey 2 work well, and their acoustic versions if speakers stand behind the screen. With ambient light in the room, choose Ambient Grey 2 or Ambient Grey 2 Acoustik (ALR).
