About the ADEO Plano Curved
ADEO Plano Curved is the curved version of the Plano fixed-frame screen. The curve of the frame brings the edges of the image closer to the viewer, increasing the sense of immersion and improving brightness uniformity on wide formats. The fabric is permanently tensioned, so the surface stays flat vertically and free of ripples. The frame, finished in black velvet, absorbs light around the image. The screen is intended mainly for premium home cinemas focused on Scope-format films, as well as for screening rooms and simulators.
Construction
Plano Curved has a curved aluminium frame covered in black velvet. The radius of the curve is matched to the screen dimensions, so the geometry stays consistent regardless of width. The fabric is tensioned on the frame, so it does not ripple or deform over time.
The curve evens out the distance from the viewer's eyes to the centre and the edges of the image. With wide formats this translates into a stronger sense of immersion and more even brightness across the whole surface.
Fabrics and aspect ratios
Image width: from 1.8 to 4 m. Aspect ratios: 4:3, 16:10, 16:9, 2.35:1, 21:9, 2.39:1 and 2.40:1.
- Reference White 2 (gain 0.9) and Reference Grey 2 (gain 0.5) – for a cinema room with controlled lighting.
- Ambient Grey 2 (gain 0.9) and Ambient Grey (gain 0.6) – ALR for rooms with brighter surroundings.

Planning projection on a curved screen
A curved screen requires careful projector set-up. Plan the throw distance so that the image fills the frame across its full width. You can calculate the image width with the formula: throw distance divided by the projector's throw ratio.
When choosing the size, the manufacturer's rule of thumb helps: image height approx. equal to the distance from the main seat divided by 2.5 for Full HD content and above. The nearest viewer should sit at least one image width away.
Who this screen is for
Plano Curved is a screen for a dedicated cinema room where you mainly watch films in wide formats. It also works well in screening rooms and simulators, where filling the field of view matters. The width range of 1.8 to 4 m lets you fit the screen to an intimate cinema room or a larger screening room. If the room will also be used for presentations and TV, compare it with the flat Plano. How does Plano Curved differ from Plano?
It has a curved frame, and the width range goes up to 4 m instead of 3 m. The curve increases immersion and evens out brightness across a wide image.
Which aspect ratio suits a curved screen best?
The curve gives the most benefit with wide cinema formats of 2.35–2.40:1. The screen is, however, also available in 16:9 and 4:3.
Can I use an acoustic fabric?
Yes. Options include Reference White 2 Acoustik, Reference Grey 2 Acoustik and Ambient Grey 2 Acoustik.
Do I need a special projector?
No, but the projector should allow precise adjustment of image geometry. It is worth planning the projection set-up together with an ABC Prezentacji adviser.
